Small tweaks so I can zoom closer and see myself.“Essentials” sub-menu, adjust “Minimum Distance” to 120 and “Maximum Distance” to 280.You can also increase the firewood yield per chop if you don’t want to go AFK while your character splits logs. For splitting, try 100 pieces of firewood per hour (about a cord of wood split and stacked per 6-7 hour day). For mining, try one piece of ore per hour. Don’t forget to wait a few hours to simulate how long it takes to mine ore/split wood. These tweaks let you actually work a boring mining or woodcutting job, which is perfect for a low-level character starting their journey. ![]() Change “Mining Presets” to “Use Custom Settings.” Change the next four numbers to 3, 3, 1, and 24.“Mining and Materials” sub-menu, increase Firewood “Max per activation” to 100.If you absolutely need to see the exact time, you still can via the wait, sleep, or tab menus. Seeing “Mid afternoon” instead of “3:23 PM” really makes you feel like you’re living in a pre-modern world while also reminding you the day is passing. Skyrim adventurers don’t have watches in-game, but generally know the time of day.“Display” sub-menu, set the horizontal offset for your in-game clock to 5, vertical offset to 0.“General” sub-menu, select “Words” for “In-Game Clock” and “Clock Type.” Disable “In-Game Date” section.If you’re following the instructions in the Google doc, you can make these changes when the MCM guide would ordinarily set up the respective mod, but most can also be changed mid-playthrough. In general, these help increase immersion, address UltSky mechanical oddities, and/or improve game function. Here are tweaks I’ve made to the base UltSky MCM guide for my current playthrough. There are way too many mods in UltSky to highlight them all, so I recommend you check out that Getting Started Guide for more details. And most jarringly for Skyrim veterans, it de-levels the world so threats don’t scale up with the player. It adds new NPCs and modifies the game environment. It redefines basic gameplay mechanics around combat, spells, and even movement. Ogerboss’s legendary mod totally changes everything about Skyrim. The biggest mods are Skyrim Unbound, which unplugs your character from the main questline, the survival mods, and of course, Requiem. Modlist designer Dylan Perry and his team has curated a fabulous mod package that really allows your character to experience Skyrim as an inhabited world, not just a digital sandbox. Base UltSky is a big upgrade from vanilla Skyrim, featuring harder combat, a more open world, and more immersive gameplay. Download it right away and splurge on that one month of Nexus Premium for an easier Wabbajack installation. If you’re familiar with Ultimate Skyrim (UltSky), skip down to the MCM section.
